TD Waterhouse - USELESS ADMIN

I have a bespoke SIPP which I asked to open a dealing account with TD Waterhouse. It took TDW several months to open the account.

Now, every time I ask my SIPP provider to transfer funds from the SIPP bank account to TDW, TDW either lose the funds in a holding account or send them back to the SIPP bank account, apparently because the name on the transfer doesn't exactly match the trading account name.

This has happened at least four times now and I am getting pretty sick of it.

So - whilst TD Waterhouse might be okay for a direct personal investor (although I have no idea), they certainly cannot be trusted to deal with anything more complicated such as a pension, a trust, or a company account.

Avoid TD Waterhouse Direct Investing.

I tried phoning them a few times, and never managed to get a clear response to my questions. I got the distinct impression the guys I talked to were blagging it - they gave me replies that were quite clearly wrong (often contradicting what it said on their own website) only to then change their tune.

They took no action; the tax year ended so we'd missed the boat. Then they wrote to us a year later to try to restart the matter.
