Short term savings

Hi there money savers!

I've sold my flat (changes hands on Friday) and there's going to be a gap between buying and selling. The gap would be about 2 months.

Is it worth putting the £30k cash gained from the sale into a short term savings account?

I've not had any experience with this type of account and wondered how it might affect my mortgage application for my next flat as I presume they'll run credit checks, etc when I open up the account. Additionally I'm temporarily living in a family member's flat so wasn't sure how easy it would be to get one.

I'm a bit green to this so apologies if my questions are daft!

It won't affect your mortgage application.

I'd suggest opening the best paying easy access account that your current bank offers. Might as well get something in interest for it.
