Regular savings into shares
I am looking to invest a small amount (£100 in each share) into UK stocks. So may pick a few and invest at total of £300 per month in it. What is the best way of doing this? Which broker allows this? I normally use hargreaves lansdown. It doesn't appear that they allow regular savings onto shares (only funds). Thanks

European accounts?
Hi all, Suppose you'd just opened a raft of new UK bank accounts and share ISA for drip-feeding into a fund. Then you got work over in Europe... what do you think of converting your currency in Euros to pounds and continue to service those £GBP accounts? Is that madness or would one be better off opening European…

ISA vs. Normal Savings
Suppose you don't pay tax. In that case, ISA and normal savings are the same, right? In fact, you're likely to be able to find a better rate in non-ISA based savings, correct? But - savings are taxed automatically, as in, the interest you receive is minus the tax. But if you earn less than the allowed amount (around £7k in…

What to do with savings before a financial meltdown :)
Just for a bit of fun. OK so let's hope it doesn't happen but theoretically speaking... What would everyone do with their savings if they had insider knowledge or correctly predicted a few days/weeks beforehand that Greece left the Euro, there was a domino effect, financial meltdown and the pound became worthless? Gold?…

supermarkets subdued
Over recent months, I guess in part triggered by 'Tesco Christmas screw up', there have been many comments on Tesco, Sainsbury and Morrison. But the shares look a bit under the weather for all three. My research led me to believe they might make sensible holdings in troubled Euro times. After all we all have to eat, there…

About a month ago I gave Santander a request to transfer some money from a different ISA account into one of their ISA accounts, after a couple of days I decided to change this amount and was told to cancel this request and create a new one. So I cancelled it. I then got an email saying you don't need to do anything and it…
