Hi - Just wondering if anyone else has experience of closing their ING account. Up until recently I've had no complaints about them, having had an account with them for 10 years at least. However I am being forced to close my account with them because I have changed bank accounts and find I can't link my new current account to my ING account because my new account doesn't come with a chequebook, and I can't make a payment in with a cheque. The fact that I am a long-standing customer doesn't cut any ice with them so I have asked them to close my account which I was told would only take a couple of days. Not only is it more than "a couple of days" but they can't tell me where they are in the process! I have now written to them twice, the second time by recorded delivery.
