Anglo Irish Bank 1 year Bonds - interest paid for 363 instead of 365 days advertised
My one year bonds have just matured and bank have paid interest for 363 instead of 365 days. They say they needed 2 days to clear my cheque. I replied that they had had my cheque for over a week before they opened my bonds and that the 365 day period should have run from date they received cleared funds. I am not certain…

Income from house sale

UK govt deb downgrade and national savings
Hi, I was wondering whether anyone knows what the implications would be if you have put money into 100% guaranteed places like Northern Rock or National Savings and then the UK debt rating is downgraded to below AAA - does this mean they will no longer be 100% guaranteed? Thanks! Kiri

I have just had a bond mature today and need to put it into something else.
