Safer place for savings?
Following the news today about the possible nationalization of Lloyds/Hbos , would'nt that make it a safer place to transfer savings to, especially amounts greater than the £50,000 covered by Uk's Compensation Scheme?

Dividend payments
If I buy shares before an ex-dividend date but sell them before the record (or qualiying) date, am I still entitled to the next dividend payment? I just want to know when is it safe to sell the shares without missing out on the dividends.

Interest on savings
I deposited some money with the Post Office :confused: last year when the interest rates for Instant Saver Accounts were about 5.7%. I know that rates have dropped, so does this mean that I no longer get 5.7% interest on my savings.
