I have just been told on the phone by Virgin that their savings products are now underwritten / owned by RBS. I know there is a lot of aggro with ex-Virgin One customers and RBS at the moment, so just wanted to warn savers that this was occurring.

Kaupthing Edge - still waiting for account closure

Rip off banks!!
I've had a letter from HSBC saying they have dropped savings accounts rates to 1% "in line with inflation". Why then have they not also dropped the rate at which they lend? How can they be allowed to get away with it?
