Savings Account Instead of Pet Insurance
I want to start a savings account for my new pup instead of paying pet insurance. I'd like to put £50 a month away, but don't need instant access as immediate vet's bills will be paid by credit card. Can anyone suggest an account with a decent interest rate where I can get the money out in 30 days and it's all done by…

Alliance and Leicester 10% ISA linked to investment?
Just been into our local branch where we have arranged to transfer some ISA funds from other providers, to take advantage of the 6.25% rate that A and L are offering. While we were there, we discussed the 10% ISA deal that they have starting on Monday, where in order to get 10% you have to invest an equal amount in their 6…

Faster Payments Scheme
Just had a leaflet with my Nat West statement, stating they will be operating the "Faster Payments" Scheme, which allegedly comes into operation on 27th May 2008. Now this will only apply to banks (and presumably building societies) which participate in the new scheme. So does any one know which other financial…

Bradford & Bingley 6.81% AER Fixed Rate Bond
Just got the nod from a contact that Bradford & Bingley have a 6 month bond due out on Wednesday 9th paying 6.81% AER monthly and 6.70% Annual Interest. Apparently it won't be available online though, just through branches. Looks like a good deal if base rate goes down on the 10th April as expected.

ING 6.5% Fixed
I know ING are famous for offers restricted to certain members but I had an email offering 6.5% fixed for 6 months or 6.2% fixed for 12 months. It's on sums above £5000. It seems a reasonable offer, but is it too little too late from them?

I’m trying to understand insurance bonds and performance comparisons. I’ve put £70,000 into a Halifax Managed Income fund. I’ve found a website called Trustnet.com which gives league tables of funds. My Halifax Managed Income fund comes in at 431 out of a table of 454 funds in something called the Balanced Managed sector –…

I am in a company share saving scheme which finishes end of Dec this year. I will be entitled to 800 shares and provided the current share price does not drop this will give me a tidy sum of 16K. I am unsure what to do with the shares when after I exercise my right to buy shares. Can I use the £7200 worth of shares and put…

I pay the higher level of tax but was wondering how the tax would be worked out in a joint account, ie i am a higher rate tax payer but my partner is not? Any advice is…

Which UK banks accept HMRC form R105?
I'm moving overseas for a couple of years for work purposes in September. In my case I'll become non-resident and not ordinarily resident from the date I leave the country, so the UK will lose its right to tax any interest earned on cash savings held with UK banks - but according to HM Revenue & Customs this is only the…
