ICICI/Sainsburys/Nationwide - Linked Accounts
Sorry if this has been covered before: I've moved most of my money from my Nationwide Flexaccount/Esaver accounts to Sainsburys. Now that Sainsburys have dropped to 6% I am thinking about joining ICICI with their 6.41% rate. Is it possible to transfer from either Sainsburys or Nationwide to ICICI? Thanks.

Halifax (HBOS) Web Saver
I was just browsing their site and came across this. Currently offering a great rate of 5.38% AER/6.00% gross (with cash card). Includes 1.25% gross bonus until 18 July 2008. It used to be that, you get roughly 0.5% less if you decide to get a cashcard. So, it is beneficial NOT to have a card option. Im sure many of you…

18, Self-employed and looking to save.
After reading the MSE forums for the past week or so, I thought it was about time I joined. I'm 18yo and operate my own photography business so i'm self-employed, and have roughly £15,000 to put to good use. So i've been browsing about to see what my best options are for my money. Since then, I've applied for an ICICI…

Bradford & Bingley 3 Year Cash ISA
I set up a cash ISA in July 2005 just so I could have somewhere to put the funds from my recently matured child savings account. Well, I'm currently without a job (or any regular income thanks to being in further education and not EMA-eligable) and with a (nearly max'ed) £500 overdraft at smile.co.uk/The Co-Operative Bank.…

CGT query
i've just switched my Midas Balanced Growth fund into another fund using Cofunds switching service. the Midas fund was worth less than the amount I originally put in -- does anyone know if this counts as a loss for CGT purposes? in other words, is a 'switch' the same as a 'sale'? both funds are held outside ISAs.

In addition I will add a few lump sums during the year as they receive gifts…

Britannia BS punishes savers again
Following the recent 0.25% cut in base rate, Britannia Building Society has informed its savers of the new rates. The rates on most accounts seems to have fallen by 0.3 or 0.35%, when rates were increasing they sometimes failed to pass on the full increase. They have always favoured their borrowers over savers but this is…

How many subscribers here are over the FSA guaranteed savings limit?
Just wondered how many people on here have savings in one institution over the guaranteed FSA compensation limit? And do they feel reasonably comfortable about it in the current climate?
