Guaranteed Investment Bonds (GIBS)
I need some help! I am in the position that earned income plus interest on savings has probably pushed me, I think, into needing to pay some tax at 40% for 2006/7. I would like therefore to shelter some money from the tax man for the current year and beyond. I have already bought ISA and one NS&I product this year. In 3…

Capital guaranteed saving bonds
I did ask the question elsewhere but it wasn`t answered.. I notice that Anglo irish (offshore) have a savings bond where 20% can be withdrawn without loss of interest (currently 6.25%). They also say on their product page that the capital is 100% guaranted by its parent company.. Some on this forum say that such claims are…

My 12th payment of £250 goes in on the 26th of this month and then the saver matures on the 26th July whereby it then gets transferred to my current account. Once the 12 payment is made do I need to do anything to stop anymore payments being taken? For example although the Halifax regular saver is only a year long, it will…

What to do with £1000?
I am a 19 year old student in Scotland, and, unlike the sterotypical student, I did not spend all of last years grant/loan on nights out. Because of this, I have managed to save £1000. I know its not that much, but if I do not do something with it soon I will end up spending it on other rubbish; a ps3 looks quite tempting…
