Lloyds TSB Regular saver T&C's
I have just jumped through a few hoops with the TSB and their 8% regular saver. I had to fight for a basic bank account and then am informed that this regular saver can only be fed from a Lloyds TSB current account. It doesn't say this on the T&C's but the person I set this up with stated it and I have just called their…

How right was Martin regarding the lloyds reg saver account
Myself & a friend both opened a lloyds monthly saver (8% 2 years) round about the same time but at different branches. I was told (and it also states in the terms & conditions) that I had to deposit £500 per month into the current account in order to take advantage of the regular saver. My friend tells me that she has only…

I bought some goods from Amazon recently and chucked in the box was a leaflet from the above company advertising Tax Free Friendly bonds. They say that in addition to an ISA, you can invest up to £25 per month in a 10 year plan......tax free. At the end of the 10 years your "bond" is repaid with Bonus's .........tax free.…

Selling Santander (ex Abbey) Shares...
I hold a thousand or so Grupo Santander shares that I wish to sell as cheaply as possible. Should I go through the group to sell them (they are held in the group’s nominee account) or transfer them to an online nominee account (that incurs an 11.00 transfer charge)? Are there any Spanish taxes to pay? If so, can these be…

I want to start a 10 yr risk free plan every year
This year I want to start a 10 year investment plan which is completely risk free (so that I get my total investment back at least). I then want to start another in 2008 etc By 2017 I will therefore have plans maturing every year. I have been doing the same with a Mutual Society which guarantees my sum and may pay out more…

Selestia, SEI funds and portfolio rebalancing
My IFA recommends I invest with Selestia in a number of SEI funds to meet my risk profile. I'm mostly ok with the asset and sector allocation that's being suggested (with the exception of the property sector which they propose I put 20% in [risk level 8]), but I'm a bit unsure about SEI. Apparently SEI will have discretion…

10% Tax band
I picked this up on the Citywire blog, is this true? In Brown’s speech yesterday the 10% band was removed for all eared income. I checked the red book and sure enough point A.10 clearly says that this benefit remains for savings and capital gains income.

Hiya, I need a bit of help, I have £500 each in inheritance for my two step children. Cheques are made out to me, but I’m guessing I can just cash them and write one out in their names. My first year with the Coventry First account will soon be up, and since this means the interest rate will fall I want to transfer a largish sum to Ice Save. Coventry First is one of my Ice Save linked accounts, so I can pull the money into Ice Save, but is there a limit on how much you can pull at a time? Thanks

Paying tax on shares profit ?
I am in full time employment and pay tax with PAYE. Recently I received a modest inheritance some of which I invested in a portfolio of shares, I think I’m right in my assumption that I can take profit to the tune of £8000 or there abouts without incurring any tax penalties, but do I have to declare all dealings to the tax…

Smile still not increasing its savings account rate
Am I missing something or have you noticed that the Smile savings account rate is still just 4.25% (and only if you have a Smile current account, if you don't its 4%). After three rises in bank rate since August 2006 Smile has increased its savings rate by just 0.25%. I've complained and the reply I get is that Smile is…

Savings Interest Rate
