Is there a way to find out whether you have been charged PPI by some companies, without having to pay out for old statements. Have online accounts with some of them but they dont allow me to search old statements? PPI virgin here

Successful PPI reclaiming
I used the templates from MSE and sent off the recommended letters to my daughters Building Society and to the Financial Ombudsman. She has just received an offer from Alliance and Leicester refunding the PPI plus an additional £800. Well done to MSE. It only cost me the price of 2 stamps.
