I had an account with Abbey and went overdrawn then they closed my account and sold my debt to a debt recovery company (£650) and they are threatening to take me to court. But then I checked my bank statements and found they have taken £730.00 of me in bank charges. Do I claim all £730.00 back or just the difference and…

Scared to reclaim bank charges...
ok, so i'm a bit of a worrier. I don't deal very well with stress as I suffer from depression and any thing out of the ordinary tends to put me into ostrich mode - head in sand! But i'm sure that I have amassed at least a couple of hundred pounds worth of fees. And that would clear off my overdraft and pay a little off of…

What is the current situation for me
Sorry if I'm being stupid but having read through a lot of back mailings. I can only find references that are saying it is getting less and less likely that money will be refunded for historical charges. I am with Natwest for both my personal and business banking account and have a large business load tied to property with…

Is this a new delaying tactic?
I've had a case open with the Ombudsman about a PPI issue with MBNA. My issue is slightly different to the usual "reclaim your PPI" one as I also tried to cancel the PPI several years ago, but MBNA simply didn't bother doing it. Anyway the Ombudsman has been progressing my case, and I got a letter from them this week.…

Is it wise to begin a claim whilst overdrawn?
Hi, I'm new to the site, so please forgive me if I'm asking an obvious question. Is it wise to begin a claim against my bank (Abbey) to get charges back if I'm overdrawn? Surely that puts me in a weak position? Thanks.

Unfair Student Account Charges Lloyds TSB
Hi all, Back in august I went over my planned overdraft limit by £7 for a few days, incurring a charge of £51, which would be charged on the 9th October. However, come 9th of October, my student loan hadn't arrived yet, so I don't have enough money in my account for the fees. I had been told that as long as I do not use my…

Not reclaiming but can I stop bank charging me?
Hello, I wonder if you could give some advice. I have not yet been charged but my bank, Natwest, have sent a letter to me today saying that they intend to charge me £28 on the 31st October due to mistakenly going overdrawn in September by £16 for 6 days. Can I stop them from doing this or not? I have called them this…
