Delay Repay on train - got taxi to different station
Bought ticket to travel from A to C today. Got to platform and my train was cancelled. In fact, all trains for next three hours were cancelled. In the end, I had to get a taxi to B (which is on mainline). I could use ticket because B is on the way to C. BUT, it cost me £10 in taxi and it was an hour later. Thing is for…

Vertical hand grip?
Hi I have a hybrid bike with a flat handle bar. I think it has been giving me shoulder/bicep trouble (aggrevating an old injury). Ideally I need attachments for the handle bars to allow my hands to have a grip closer to vertical rather than horizontal. Do such attachments exist? Or do I need a whole new handlebar?

Nuneaton - Taxi
Hi, Does anyone know if taxis are available from outside the train station in Nuneaton midweek after 21:00. If not can anyone recommend a taxi firm in that area that I can pre-book a taxi? Thanks

Cycle lanes - not used
Why, when local councils have spent millions of pounds installing either dedicated cycle lanes near to a road or have signposted existing footpaths as shared cycle lanes / footpaths do many cyclists insist on still using the road? Many of the dedicated lanes are adjacent to busy, fast moving roads so are clearly there to…

London Euston to Brentford
I am wishing to travel to Brentford in the new year. The Train split is giving me: from Coventry to London mainline stations then London Mainline stations to Brentford (Not including tube) Can I use my ticket to use the Tube without using Oyster(Chip & PIN)? Will I need to buy an Oyster(Use my Chip & Pin)in addition? Or…

Disabled Train Fares and Greater Anglia trains
I wonder if any of you good people can help me work out how to battle the latest issue I've come up with while booking advance train tickets. I'm a wheelchair user and was planning to travel from Norwich to Birmingham a couple of weeks ago at the same time as an able-bodied friend. The advance fare when I phoned was around…

Why is it cheaper to travel further on the same train route?
Could someone please explain why it is CHEAPER to travel FURTHER on the same train line? For example from Southport to Carlisle on March 17th 2017 at 9.51 is £8 for a single with a connection in Wigan. This train goes through Penrith. But a single to Penrith at same time and date and again through Wigan, is £38.50 and the…

Annual Oyster Refund - incorrect amount?
Hello MSE-ers! So I purchased a Zone1-2 annual travel card in April 2016. I was looking into the option of refunding the remainder, so that I could purchase a new one to get cashback with my Amex Platinum Everyday credit card (it needs to be done this month for the 5% cashback in first 3 months bonus). When I looked into…

Fuelling a bicycle
I have been using myfitnesspal recently to lose a bit of weight. When I cycle to work it takes about 80 minutes. So the calories burned mean I can basically eat another meal in that day. As this is a money saving site it struck me that the cost of a meal is probably more than the cost of petrol if I had driven. Most people…

Sorry for the inconvenience!
When we checked it was 28 minutes since Southern last said sorry on Twitter..... How many times have you been waiting for a delayed or cancelled train? And how many times have you heard the apologetic announcement of your inevitably late arrival to work. Well, many people now are taking straight to Twitter to vent their…

Frustrating National Express website
I haven't travelled by coach for many years but want to travel with National Express from Cornwall to Heathrow. I don't want to risk rail disruption in January. I book a return or use the train depending on timings. I've looked at the NX website several times and the information changes. For example: sometimes it states…

SWT and their interpretation of the Super Off Peak fare code
SWTrains offer a Super Off Peak ticket from Portsmouth & Southsea to Waterloo with a fare validity code of BE. Looking this up on National Rail it gives the following evening restriction: Not valid on trains timed to depart: * London Terminals (except London Paddington, below) after 04:29 and before 11:00, and after 15:59…

Uber and Android Pay - confused
I got a notification in my Uber app that they are doing a promotion until 31 January 2017 where you get 50% off rides (up to £5 discount) if you pay by Android Pay. Sounds great - except I can't see how you actually pay via Android Pay. There's nowhere (that I know of) to tap your phone when making a journey. When I click…

Track pump that fits AirZound horn?
I have an AirZound bike horn, but none of the pumps I have quite fit. As much as I push down, I can't get any air in. I need a new track pump anyway -- ideally one with a double Shrader/Presta nozzle, and a pressure gauge. But most importantly, one that fits the AirZound! Any suggestions? :)

Chiltern Railways Carnet tickets? Banbury to London
So i'm starting a new job that will involve travel into central london 2 days per week. It looks as though the 2 days travel will cost the same per month as a season ticket would! I've come across the Chiltern Carnet ticket option online and tried to phone up to ask for prices but they don't know them over the phone and…

Cycling: Winter tyres, anyone bother?
I was curious if anyone bother with winter cycling tyres, not even for snow etc just for the colder wetter roads? I recently had a cycling accident; travelling approx 12mph, slight down hill. Wet roads, cold evening but not raining, no ice, I dont recall there being any leaves on the road. I applied both brakes to stop…
