Good vacuum for cat litter?
hi all, I've just about had it with my Vax Power II bagless upright vacuum which is just a terrible machine. I'm therefore in the market for a decent vacuum cleaner (hopefully for under £70) which can deal with clay cat litter really well. Anyone got any recommendations please? thanks in advance.

Ezydog harnesses.
Just wondering of anyone uses the ezydog harnesses? My eldest dog seems to have super sensitive skin and his harness often rubs the skin of his chest and under his arms. I make sure it's not too tight before every walk so I know it's not that. Looking around for a new one for him I saw the ezydog harnesses, I like the look…

Home check on Wednesday!!
As the title says - Wednesday is the day!! We've been looking after a female beagle for 2 weeks (trial period), hopefully to keep her! We lost our 16 year old crossbreed almost 6 weeks ago and at the time it was 'never again' - she had to be pts and the vet totally screwed it up - she didn't know anything about it, but it…

LIVID!!! Threatened with RSPCA - UPDATED: Had a visit
I am absolutely effing jeffing blooming livid and need to rant. Have come home from work this evening to find a note stuffed through my letter box: "People like you should not have dogs. You dont care for them properly and neglect them. I am going to report you to the rspca and have them removed" I am furious. They haven't…

Which flexi-lead for a manic bull terrier?
Mutt's flexi lead has just died (won't wind in anymore.) It's the large one for dogs up to 50Kg. Mutt averages 21-22kg, so as money is tight at the moment, I've been looking at the medium sized ones which are a fair bit cheaper, and say they're ok for dogs up to 25 kg. However she has a bad habit of running full tilt till…

My cat is doing my head in!
Hi all, I moved into my new house with my cat Charlie about 3 weeks ago. He has always been a greedy so-and-so but it seems to have gotten worse. I'm not sure if this is because we have moved or whether he is just getting more greedy. I feed him two pouches per day of Tesco Luxury wet food which is about 45% meat. I rarely…

Cat's bottom
*ahem* We have noticed over the past couple of days that Splodge (7 months, female, neutered, long haired moggy) has rather large amounts of poo around her bottom. It's taken two of us to clean her up, and she wasn't a happy kitty... She is allowed outside (full access whenever she wants, not overnight) and we were trying…

Help, please - what do ferrets eat?
Just about half an hour ago, a ferret appeared from under our shed. It is very friendly and we have put it in an empty rabbit hutch for now until, hopefully, its owner turns up. I would like to feed it, but have absolutely no idea what they eat, being more accustomed to cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. Any suggestions will…

Introducing a puppy to my cat
There's a lass at my work who mentioned the other day that she's giving up her 8 month old Staffie cross puppy. She's only had him for a few months and she tried Dogs Trust who said they can't help so she said she was sending him to the pound where I'm pretty sure they have 7 days to find a home before they get pts. As I…

We have given him a bath (cat shampoo) and still there, not as bad but still the same sort of smell.
