Cat has grass stuck in her bum

Boyfriends cat has just been in her litter tray (doing a poo) and now has a piece of grass sticking out her bum.
Its definately a piece of grass, not a worm or anything and i know not to try and pull it out myself in case its attatched to anything inside (as shes also very prone to furballs.)
Its not bothering her at all, shes not scooting her bum or anything and is acting 100% as normal.
Should i take her to the vets asap or wait until she does another poo and see if it comes out naturally? As she is a rescue cat and absolutely terrified of the vets/the basket/ the car i dont want to take her to the vets if this is quite common etc. (hope that doesnt make me sound like im a bad owner im really not!)

Why not call the vets and see what they advise? We have a good vets and pop in any time we have any questions.
Hope the pud is ok0 -
unfortanetly cats vet will not give out any advice over telephone
Am sure she'll be ok, as it is definately a piece of grass (she was eating it last night.) but thanks for the suggestion and kind words.0 -
Happens with the dog all the time - she's a sod for eating grass. I shouldn't worry, it'll probably come out the next time she goes. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

Ours Does. Of course they won't give medical advice most vets though will tell you if they think you need to bring your animal in. Or if its just an everyday thing. If yours won't give some basic advice without booking an appointment I'd look at changing vets0 -
Pick another vets out of the phone book. Some vets/receptionists are actually really nice about it if you have a question.
I personally would just say wait for her to go again. It should just come out on it's own. If it's very long and liable to drag on the floor etc (ewww _pale_) maybe you could just chop the offending grass short with scissors when the cat is asleep.Mum of several with a twisted sense of humour and a laundry obsession:o

Reminds me of an incident years ago when I thought our dog was losing it's intestine through its rear end! Turned out it had stolen a packet of sausages wrapped in cling film and the "intestine" was the undigested plastic that had filled with gas!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:0

Well done BD1! Best laugh that I have had all day.
Really sorry about the dog though!"If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

It reminds me of the time when one of our cats ate the tinsel off the Christmas tree.
A few hours later she looked very festive!0 -
Don a pair of rubber gloves and pull it out, should come out easy enough. My dogs are eating grass right now, the newer shoots must be tasty, their poo has loads of leaves wrapped out the t*rds.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth0
