FAO of FireFox -Dry cat food (I hear you sighing lol)
Hey I'm sure you will be able to help Firefox. I have also decided to move from Iams due to things you have said on other threads. Yes I blame you lol Anyway I vaguely remember you mentioning Bozita. I can't remember if you were meaning the dry food, but how do you rate this? Which do you feel is the best dry all in all?…

Anyone lost a pet due to anaesthetic?
Hi there We took our two NFC's to the vet on Friday for neutering. They were just over 6 months and just under 4kgs - fit and healthy. Sadly, the vet called to say that our black one had stopped breathing and died before the op had even started. The other was fine. I'm just so shocked - I do know that these things happen…

Old dog and protein in urine
Mutt has protein in her urine which is most likely due to old age rather than her recurrnent urine infections. Nothing to worry about at the moment, just need to make sure she's maintaining her weight, but it may need a change of diet in the future. However I have a vague memory that when my last pooch needed a special…

Help appreciated with training Jack Russell Terrier!
We have a 5 year old JRT who we rescued a year ago. She's lovely and sweet, fab with the kids but does have some annoying habits: * goes completely hyper when the postman comes - he's taken to leaving the post outside the door but if anyone pushes anything through the letterbox she will tear it up and we're getting fed up…

shutting up neighbour's dogs
my neighbour has 2 dags and they bark & howl at stupid hours of the day, usually on my days off from uni/work. i know for a fact they haven't taken the dogs out for a walk for the best part of 3 years, allowing them to run round the house & very occasionally in the smallish garden. what they do with the dags is up to them,…

Puppy walking - Guide dogs for the Blind
I've requested an application form to be a puppy walker. That's having a puppy for it's first year or so, getting it socialised etc. I've never had a puppy before though I've had rescue dogs that have been stressed out and I know all about the commitment dogs require. It's been 5 years since our last dog was put to sleep…

Reassurance wanted over feeding raw to our dog
Hi, My 5month old JRT is extremely fussy with her food and generally turns her nose up at all tinned food and only eats a small amount of dried food (Iams, Wagg, bakers we have them all!). Today, after reading some threads on feeding raw and at the end of my tether with throwing away wet food, I cut a raw big chicken wing…

My Dog Attacked Another
Paddy attacked a Rotweiller today. For those who don't know, I adopted 6 year old Cocker(part working Cocker I believe) exactly 2 weeks ago. Until yesterday, due to weather and no one being about, had only met one other dog. An elderly, rather grumpy natured lab in the Village. Yesterday, a Border Collie who I know not to…
