Top Up Fees - Or not....???
A bit long, I'm afraid. After my mum died last year my dad had to go into Residential Care. He has a brain disorder that affects his speech (sometimes) and his balance, making him unstable. Apart from looking in on him, and helping him have a bath, his needs are few. When he entered the home, it was an awful time - mum was…

Changes to pension payments!
It seems that the pension service has decided to eliminate the choice we’ve all been able to take up until now. From next April, ALL state pensions will be paid every four weeks in arrears. When my pension started I chose to take it weekly in advance and I’m at least pleased that this will continue – it’s only for new…

It has been a gradual process and initially she just needed a little bit of help and this , due to proximity, was provided by her son. But she…

probate still needed although will was made
Why does a deceased person's estate still have to go to probate even though a will has been made? I'm looking at the Will Aid promotion this month whereby you can have a will drawn up free of charge by a solicitor in your area but you are "expected" to donate £75 for this service. My uncle died recently and was meticulous…
