Probably obvious to everyone else!
This is probably really obvious to everyone else, but as I'm quite new to shopping (only moved out of my mums in october) it's not to me. Basically am wondering what the cheapest cuts of meat are to buy. Really trying to budget, only meat we really eat just now are chicken breasts, beef frying steak (although have tried…

American cookery terms
I prefer to use American recipes as they use cups which I find easier to remember and use. I'm trying to make a banana and walnut loaf and the recipe uses baking soda, another recipe I looked at used baking powder. So is baking soda - bicarbonate of soda? and is baking powder what we call baking powder? HELP! lol

Mermaid Omelette Pan
I have finally got around to treating myself to one of these as I think they are the ones they use on Ready Steady Cook and I've always been envious that they can start things on the hob then chuck them in the oven to finish them off. Can anyone answer the following: 1. Am I right in thinking that it is the Mermaid pans…

I wish to lodge a complaint about OS
Because of your suggestions of meal planning, buying things on BOGOF offers, batch freezing and home cooking, it's now all entirely the fault of you OS guys and gals that ... My freezer is full!!! I can't fit anything in - not even the extra portion of veg curry in the fridge that should go in the freezer! It's all your…

Casseroles - almost there but....
Hi All I am new to home cooking and have nearly mastered successful casseroles. However...I have been given an excellent tip of mixing cornflour with cold water and adding to the casserole to thicken it or to thicken gravy. I did this with a very small portion of gravy in a pan on the cooker top and it worked fine,…

Anyone Own a Kenwood Microwave ??? Please Look in...
Our old (Delonghi) microwave has gone kaput but it was just as well because we hated it. Instead of the usual one long beep to signify end of cooking or even a couple of short beeps, or even three beeps we had to tolerate five LOUD beeps and it was like listening to a lorry reversing every time we heated something up in…

Any suggestions?
Hi all Sorry if this is a depressing thread, but I feel very low this week! I gave up work when I found out I was expecting twins 3 years ago and have since focussed on them. I had a high powered carrer which was very stressful, and where there was no option for part time work. I have been really happy at home raising my…
