Anyone Own a Kenwood Microwave ??? Please Look in...

Our old (Delonghi) microwave has gone kaput but it was just as well because we hated it. Instead of the usual one long beep to signify end of cooking or even a couple of short beeps, or even three beeps we had to tolerate five LOUD beeps and it was like listening to a lorry reversing every time we heated something up in there.

I want to get a new Kenwood one (KENWOOD KEN-SJ/SS28) from Currys but I really want to know how many beeps it rings out for end of cooking time and I can't find a manual anywhere.

Can anyone help me out here ?

Thanks,
Mike.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that finds the beeps irritating....we went from one with 2 beeps, to one with 3 beeps, and the one we have recently bought beeps 4 times. I scowl at it every time! It could just be my hormones though :rotfl:

Thanks to you both. If I find out that there's some EU Directive which is now stipulating five beeps on everything electronic I'm going to have to emigrate to escape the cacophony...

One was quite enough when my parents first bought one in the mid-eighties and so it should be quite enough now !!!

I'll have to find me another model it seems.

We have the cheapest possible Cookworks model and it has only one short beep ;) I just want to say there must be no directive for EU :)

Got us-selves a new Delonghi from Argos (we had a £69.95 credit from the last one which broke) and the ruddy thing beeps five times when it finishes....

I thought it was just me!

We have a Kenwood oven/mw/grill combo and I love the functionality but hate hate hate that beeping. I have tried every setting to turn it off but no luck. My washing machine (an LG) also beeps but around 10 or 12 high pitched beeps. Hate it. Hate it.

    Feel better now

Did some more searching and in the US, Sharp microwaves have something called "Audible Signal Elimination" which turns the beeps off. Some Samsungs have it too.

Our Zanussi Washer/Dryer has an annoying end-of-cycle endless beep too...
