how long for rice in a SC?
i've got chicken thighs and chopped sausages in a spicy sauce in the SC at the moment with about 4 hours to go. If I throw in some long grain rice , will it cook in 4 hours? Or will that be too much time??:confused:

deluxe hand mixer
Hi I am wanting to start making my own cakes and bread. I can not afford a bread maker or a food processor, but have saw a deluxe hand mixer in argos. It comes with a dough hook and twin beater for £14.99. Can anyone tell me if this is a waste of money or will it be worth it. Will it be good for kneading. Thanks

Lightly Toasted Oatmeal

Made bread from flour from our local windmill
Thought I would buy some flour from Skidby Mill our local working windmill. It was more expensive that supermarket flour at £1.70 for normal sized bag and it came in fine or coarse but cheaper than I had suspected and still value for money IMO. I choose fine. Dried fruit - nutritional value?
Lidl have a half price offer at the moment on their 500gm mixed dried dessert fruit (not the baking kind!). cooking gammon - help
Help please. I've suddenly had a call from OH. he's bringing 4 of our friends back for tea tonight. Decided i will make it easy and prepare it all now. Got a 650g gammon joint out of fridge and am boiling it now. Wrapper says 30mins per 500g so approx 45 mins cooking. Is this enough? Don't worry not going to starve them…
