Now we know that the finance will need to be paid off once he receives the money for it but after having a conversation with them and thinking that the amount they are requesting is a little on the high side we’ve…

Upgrade car
Two years ago bought 2011 Merc A Class classic manual petrol. Immaculate condition. A Class in short supply so couldn't get Avant-garde which I would have preferred. Perhaps money saving not buying newer car any ways to improve classic, e.g headlights, seat comfort. Ideas appreciated.

Intermittent reverse lights...?
Drove the wifes car yesterday and noticed the reverse lights weren't working. This happened a while ago. Told a mechanic and he just said it's not an MOT failure which in itself i think is ridiculous but hey ho. Kept taking out of reverse and putting in - didn't trigger it. Got out and smacked the light unit a bit on both…

Very elderly relative has decided to give up driving, mainly due to age. MOT ran out on the 11th November. Car is parked on the private drive and has been since March (COVID). He wanted to get everything out of the car (spare glasses/cd's etc) in preparation of the car being either sold to one of those companies that buy…

Possible to change ownership with new keepers tear off online?
When i bought my car the guy did everything online on a Sunday. By the Tuesday/Wednesday of the following week, i had the V5C. Literally 2-3 days. When my brother bought his car, he dealt with someone who didn't appear to have ever heard of the word technology, never mind actually use it. We're a good few months in now and…

2 pensioners left in a layby on a duel carriageway for 5 and a half hours after 9 phone calls, being told twice they were coming within 20 mins, call out escalated to critical 3 times only to find when they eventually arrived that the recovery man was only notified 10 minutes ago!!!! None of this is in dispute. I wrote…

Paying VAT on car hire vehicle after non-fault RTA
Hi ladies and gents, I've scanned a few posts on here in regards to my problem but my issue is a little different to the other posts that I have come across so, here's my story! Resident's Parking
The road I live on consists of terraced houses, with no off street parking, so parking is naturally an issue. The proximity to a train station makes the issue worse, although less so during lockdown. A large cul-de-sac with separate name has c.50 houses on it, and I live on the corner of said cul-de-sac and the main road.…

No claims bonus - when last provider only gave max of 9 years
OK so planning to move car insurance. Probably got at least 15 years no claims. BUT last insurer used 9 as the max so renewal letter says 9 years. Not sure how I can prove next insurer that I've got more than that? Or am I stuck with 9?

Car insurance during lockdown
I recently read that your car insurance may not be valid during lockdown if you use your car for unnecessary journies. Can this be true?
