OK so planning to move car insurance.
Probably got at least 15 years no claims. BUT last insurer used 9 as the max so renewal letter says 9 years.
Not sure how I can prove next insurer that I've got more than that? Or am I stuck with 9?

Most companies maximum is 9+ years. Who are you thinking of insuring with next?0

Some insurers regard max as 6, and I doubt you'll find many that count more than 9.
It's pretty much academic, anyway... The annual difference is only about 1% once you hit around 4-5yrs.

It is annoying and some companies will give better discount for 15 years than 9; Admiral was one that did even though they only show a max of 9 years on their own renewal! The only way around it would be to keep all your renewal notices so that you can prove that the most recent one has docked some years off but with most dumb insurer operators, it would be too complicated for them to work out and hassle for you to do. Easiest thing is to accept you can only say 9 years now.

yes it is admiral. fair bit of difference if I put 15 instead of 90

I’ve got decades of no-claims but they won’t give me credit for it.
I reckon I should be paying about a tenner a year, but when I put that point to my insurance company they just won’t listen!

When my husband changed insurance companies he asked the old company for confirmation of the xtra years NCB he had that were not shown on his certificate. The new company accepted that.0
