Dash cam recommendations
Hi folks. I've been mulling over the idea for a while but I've bitten the bullet and decided to buy a dash cam. I recently started a new job which involves a 95 mile round trip on the M4, and the number of near misses I see every day is shocking. So I'd like a dash cam to protect me in the event if I'm involved in a…

Car insurance con
So, I have just taken out a policy with Brightside insurance and I was quoted £30 per month which was £10 less than my old insurer, so I signed up. However I have since had an email stating that they have increased my premium by £85 a year (now £39 a month) as apparently I failed to disclose a claim. Last year, a guy fell…

Car Service Cost
My partner's 2017 Peugeot 108 is due for a service. It's got about 20k miles on the clock and the local Peugeot garage have quoted her £380 which seemed quite a lot to me. Is it just to protect the warranty?

Service plan
I've been offered a service plan for £22 per month on a small car. When I looked at booking direct it was £140 for a full service and £209 for a major service. Are service plans meant to be cheaper than just booking direct or is this normal? This is the first time I've dealt with this so wondering about peoples experiences.

Used car Warranty
Sorry for the long post.... I bought a used car on 2nd of march and was given verbally a months warranty. Within a few hours we noticed the car had a noticable engine knock. With it being the weekend I planned to ring them when they opened on the Monday, however, the car got me to the school run but then totally conked…

Buying car to last 15 years?
I guess this is a two or three part question. To give you an idea of what I want I have in mind a Volvo V60 D4 is currently rising to the top. I want an estate, SUV or hatchback (in that order). Need the boot for dogs and horses but not for towing horses but still need to tow 1,500kg infrequently. I want comfort over all…

Knocking sound when braking
Hi guys. I’ve been to mechanic to get this knocking sound looked at. It’s a fast knocking sound, and gets faster as I come to a stop. It sound like it’s coming from the front left of car. It only occurs after / when I’ve done a long-ish journey (45+ min). It only happens when I ever so slightly touch the brakes to come to…

Service Reminders
Morning all Just a quick post, I’m having a healthy debate with my car dealership about vehicle service reminders and the fact that their reminder was after the 12months I needed to get my car serviced which voided my warranty. Now whilst I understand I have to get my car serviced, due to me driving around the country for…

Large car low running costs for low miles
Any suggestions? Currently have a Lexus LS460, it's nice but the VED is a killer (£570 as of next year). Ok 23mpg isn't great either, so could save some cash there too. Any suggestions for replacement? Large, parking camera (or retrofit?), lower VED, better fuel consumption. Doesn't need to be fast. But comfortable.…

I was hit by another driver on Friday. Nothing too bad but will be expensive to fix as I'll need a new door and wheel arch trim. I phoned my insurer to make a claim on the Friday. Should I buy 20 year old Jeep?
I have always admired the Jeep Cherokee, and actually had a test drive in a used one about twenty-five years ago. I did not like the automatic box, and forgot about it. Recently I found a low mileage manual diesel, which is not in bad shape. I am wondering what problems to look for. I have looked at Youtube, but most of…
