Large car low running costs for low miles
Any suggestions? Currently have a Lexus LS460, it's nice but the VED is a killer (£570 as of next year).
Ok 23mpg isn't great either, so could save some cash there too.
Any suggestions for replacement? Large, parking camera (or retrofit?), lower VED, better fuel consumption. Doesn't need to be fast. But comfortable.
Non-luxury badge preferred (so not Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Jaguar, etc).
Wife will be looking after it, and she's hopeless so nothing too fragile either....
Petrol preferred?

I’m going to break my own rule and suggest that on this occasion the answer could be a Skoda Superb...0 -

Define low miles? Do you mean lots of short trips to get her nails done, buy coffee, go see friends, or do you mean 1 50 miles each way trip a week somewhere?
If the former get a VW up and tell her she doesn't need a massive SUV to be seen in! If the latter then literally any diesel! Those who risk nothing, Do nothing, achieve nothing, become nothingMFW #63 £0/£5000 -
Tesla 3 unless you pay more than £40k for one.The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.0

RX400h......ALL the way0 -
Ignore the tax, it's nothing compared to depreciation. For low mileage, you may as well get a huge petrol engine for the refinement and fact it's cheap due to fuel/tax.
If it was me, and the parking camera was optional, I'd be looking for a 2005 Jaxuar X-Type, 2.5 or 3.0. Tax is about £295, but it'll be peanuts to buy and on low mileage 25mpg doesn't matter.
Or I'd stick with the Lexus - how much are you realistically going to want to spend to save £570/year?0
