Pothole claim - civil procedure rules breached!!!
Hi all, In February of this year i hit a mahoosive pothole and sustained a large amount of damage to my car. After I eventually found out who my claim should be lodged with, I made a claim for damages on 23/02/2014 with my local council. Quite some time passed and over the course of a few months I kept reminding them that…

Summer screenwash
Does anyone know a good summer screenwash; one that actually has a stab a clearing away insects that have met an untimely death on the windscreen? From a nose online the only one that seems to stand out is Prestone Bugwash, but this doesn't seem to be widely available. I can only find it on eBay where it is rather pricey.…

Car Crash - Sorted through insurance but noticed subsequent damage - course of action
A while back someone drove into the back of me. Other driver accepted full responsibility, insurance covered damage (mainly to rear bumper and parking sensors), so no problem. However I've subsequently noticed some damage that was not apparent at the time. The rubber seals on one of the rear doors are out of place (making…

Poor quality paint job?
I've recently had my car repaired after someone hit me. The paint job looks cloudy and mismatched, so I took it back and they admitted it was poor and said it's due to the paint moving in the heat. They said give it longer to cure and they'll polish it and it'll be fine. Does this sound like it's a reasonable explanation?…

Question for long term SORN'ers (handbrakes)
Hey gang.. Got a car on the drive, it's been SORN'd for at least 3.5 years and was also SORN'd for a year 6 months before that too! Now knowing that hand brakes can start to seize up, I left the hand brake off and the gear shift in P (yes it's an auto). When I move it around the hand brake still appears to work effectively…

Advice on garage issues?
Our car began having issues about a month ago. We took it to a local garage who said that the clutch needed replacing and that the tensioner needed replacing. I noticed a couple of days later that there were spots of oil on our drive but put it down to the clutch repair. Six days later my husband was driving the car on the…

Indicator failing sporadically
Hi guys, The front right indicator on my Clio 2005 sometimes doesn't work (can tell when it's happening as the back on flashes double speed). Doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it though it always starts off fine on any journey but if I'm driving long enough it'll eventually happen. It's not the bulb and doesn't…

I then called back at 15:14 to be told somebody was coming to assist. Somebody did come from a local recovery after a few hours, in a van but i…

Correct way to dispose of Coolant/Antifreeze
I recent did some routine maintenance on my motorbike, part of which was flushing the coolant (along with some RadFlush as it hadn't been done in a number of years). As such, I now have 4-5 litres of anti-freeze/water mix. All very well, but when I took the waste Coolant to my local recycling centre (Fritzlands in Barking…
