Best Train price alert
I am looking for the best price from Cornwall to London. It should be £14.50 single. I assumed it would start the day they released the tickets, I.E 12 weeks, but that does not ring true as its currently £50 each way. When will I know when they chop the fare and make the £14.50 available? Or is it look everyday?

Cheap 4x4
We live up a single track road thats not gritted or ploughed when the snow comes. We're looking for a cheap 4x4 as a second car for doing short runs to the school/shops. Our budget is around £1000 and we're looking at Honda HRV, Subaru Impreza, suzuki Jimny or similar. We've had a variety of larger 4x4's in the past but…

Covered on Courtesy Car?
Our car is in for service and we've got a courtesy car from the dealership. Neither my OH or I thought to check whether I would be insured to drive it, I just tried calling the dealership to ask and they've just closed for the night - I really need to use the car - I'm probably not covered - right? Thanks

Failure to display tax disk
My partner just called me and said she had been issued with a ticket last night (only seen it today stuck to car) for not displaying the valid tax disk that she'd bought earlier in the month. As she was doing into the house to get the tax disk it put it on the car, the kind PCO was sticking ANOTHER FPN to the car for the…

DVLA - Receiving debt letters for an old old car.
Hi. I have recently started receiving debt letters from a company on behalf of the DVLA. They are demanding 80.00 for 'an outstanding amount due to them'. They haven't even said what its for. The car in question was involved in a bump what must have been 4 years ago, if not more and was subsequently scrapped. I sent the…

easiest way to sell a car?
Hi, I'm looking to sell my 6.5 year old car. Its not in the best nick and I've never sold a car privately before and to be honest, just want rid of it. I'm really reluctant to place an ad or anything that involves having people coming out to see it and that kind of thing. I've checked its valuation on Parkers and they have…

Hire Car Damage
Recently hired a car for 2 days from a well-known hire car company. Didn't opt for the stupidly expensive Super Collision Damage Waiver but drove the car incredibly carefully and returned it to their offices at the time it was due. Imagine how annoyed at myself I was when I reversed the car up to their front door and made…

A wee flaw in the car insurance comparison site system that can save you a few £'s
Now I know I will not be the only one to have spotted this, but it's a simple method that could be easily overlooked so I think it's worth mentioning as it may help someone. You need to start generating quotes around 28 days from your renewal date, note the cheapest, then simply generate more quotes using the same details…

Reliable used car inspection: where cheap?
Goodmorning! I have recently bought a second hand car but I (quite stupidly) didn't take someone able to do a deep inspection at the place with me. I am a bit annoyed at the dealer because there are faults with the car that are coming out and I didn't notice when I bought it (e.g. the boot doesn't lock - meaning can be…
