Stevenage to Edinburgh

Hi I'm looking to book a long weekend for 2 fri-mon in edinburgh travelling from stevenage and wondered what the best way would be to split the journey up -I tried stopping at Leeds but that looked very expensive.

It might help if you state the method of transport!

    Are you flying/driving/coach/train?

When do you want to travel? Cheap train seats are released about 12 weeks before travel and sell out fast.

A through Advance fare, booking when tickets go on sale (around 12 weeks in advance - though this can vary) will be far cheaper. Check the T&Cs are suitable though (e.g. no refunds).

Sign up to receive an email when tickets go on sale here. The EC website front page details when tickets are on sale to (currently "
Tickets are now available for travel up to and including Friday 16 December 2011").

Whenever I travel on EC mainline between Stevenage and York, I use the EC website and book two separate advance singles - far cheaper than a return ticket.

And if you use that website to buy your Advance tickets you can get a 10% online discount.
