Bit confused as to what you are doing.
Do you want to keep both cars?
If so you can put the Megane on the old policy and get a new policy for the Micra if you want, ring Post office and say you want a quote for a mid term adjustment as you are considering changing cars.0 -
Your options dont seem to stack up as you look to be considering keeping both cars and keeping just the new one.
On most policies you cannot insure two vehicles on a long term basis, you can add a second vehicle as a temporary additional vehicle but normally a maximum of 28 days. Some insurers will give you a second car discount if you insure both vehicles through them, as the Post Office is a broker not an insurer it is less likely they'll do it but you can always call them to ask.
If you are getting a second car and assuming you have no NCD then simply go online and find the cheapest insurer for the second car and then contact the PO and see what they can do for you in comparison.
If you are getting rid of the first car then you need to get quotes to see how much new insurance will cost -v- how much to do a mid term adjustment and transfer the remainder of your current policy onto the new car. You would need to factor in any cancellation fees for switching (which can be considerable) and the loss of the 6 months NCD before making your decision to switch insurers.0 -
