Single Trip European Breakdown Cover
Hi, has anybody got any reference points for the above (which will be about 4-days cover for a trip to France) in respect of a car first registered in 1993 - but still going strong? Nearest I can get so far is to take out an annual policy and cancel it on return when it hasnt been used. Sounds a bit naff to me! Any ideas…

Ridiculous insurance quotes.
I definitely don't agree with it but I can understand why there are so many un-insured cars out there. I bought what I thought was a 'young driver' friendly car when my lad turned 17 so that he could learn to drive in it and use it when I wasn't and the intention to give him the car when his brother turned 17 2 years later…

Honda FR-V or Citroen C4 Grand Picasso
Hi I have a quick question, I need a larger car to accommadate 2 forward facing car seats and an adult in the back seat and am thinking of either an FR-V or a C4 Grand Picasso. I have owned 2 Honda's and really liked them (currently own an 08 civic) but am worried the boot on the FR-V is not big enough for a double buggy…

write off advice
On Christmas Eve our car was shunted, squarely across the bumper, from behind whilst stationary and indicating to turn. The other driver was 100% at fault. We informed our insurers, Directline, and it was collected a few days later and a hire car has been provided for our use. Today the local repair shop recommended by our…

Save Donington Parade Sunday 7th March
If, like me, you are a bit of a petrol head then you may also have fond memories of Donington Park, not only for race events, but also rock concerts, festivals, track days etc. Since the death of Tim Wheatcroft and the stalling of the track refurbishment the future of this great motor racing circuit is uncertain.…

options for trains preston to london return
10 of us are going for a hen do 3-5th April. The girl organising has quoted £71 return. I think this is expensive (especially as I'll be paying for my daughter too) I'm thinking of not going on the group booking and looking at the train options it seems i might be able to get tickets for just £12.50 each to take me and DD…

I hit an uninsured driver....not sure where I stand?
Writing this on behalf of my OH The other day I was driving a works van and another car stopped in front of me at an island, slowly at first and then all of a sudden slammed on his brakes. I hit him from behind. The police were called, I was breathalysed, and checks were made on the other driver, which showed that he has…

The cheapest quotes at the moment I can find are between £750-900 which after numerous searches seems fair enough. However, the minute I google the cheapest quote suppliers (Quinn, Postoffice, M&S,…

can you keep insurance running?
My 'friend' wants to borrow my car, as he has not got his anymore. I said he wouldn't be insured, but he said he's kept his insurance running, even though he doesn't own a car anymore. My question is whether or not he'd be covered still and able to drive my car with his insurance? I was under the impression that you need…

about to buy a Network Railcard - any deals/codes/cashback available?
Hi, It costs me £16 for an off-peak travelcard to go into london from where I live and although I don't go that often it mounts up. I figured out that i went in enough times last year that a network Railcard (costing £26, but saving 1/3 of the fare each time) would have been well worth it. I'm going to buy one tomorrow as…
