about to buy a Network Railcard - any deals/codes/cashback available?

Hi,

It costs me £16 for an off-peak travelcard to go into london from where I live and although I don't go that often it mounts up. I figured out that i went in enough times last year that a network Railcard (costing £26, but saving 1/3 of the fare each time) would have been well worth it.

I'm going to buy one tomorrow as i'm heading into london tomorrow night but I was just wondering if anyone knows of a promotional code I can use or anything like that?

cheers

  • I dont know if this still works this year, but it did last year.... if you know someone with a gold card (people who have an annual season ticket on the mainline or tube basically)... they should be able to get you a Network Rail card for £1.

I got one for my Dad using my Oystercard gold record card.

You need to go to a national rail ticket office with a passport photo of the person the card is for.
  • Can anyone tell me if the additional £1 Network card is available to a network card holder. All the posts here seem to mention an annual Gold Card. My wife holds a Network Railcard, so could she get me a 2nd card for £1 or can I use hers if I travel alone (or at least without her present)?

The "£1 for a Network Railcard" offer is only open to Gold Card holders.

A Gold Card holder is an annual season ticket holder.

If you want to pursue this, you might be interested to know that (possibly) the cheapest Annual Season Ticket in the South East is from Ryde St Johns Road to Ryde Esplanade at £132.00.

With your figures have you taken into account the minimum fare of £13 on a weekday? And the fact it cannot be used before 10am?
