Hi, just found this site- found some great info on here already I'm looking to buy a second hand mondeo (woowww I know!) at auction but at the risk of sounding like a right tightwad- I sort of object to paying £10 just to see the cars they are selling! Today on the way to work minding my own business I was sat in a queue of traffic at the lights. I heard sirens and then the police came and started directing the traffic. The policeman directing us told us to go through a red light, which had a red light camera and this flashed at all the traffic going through it (it was…

Brake line material.
I'm replacing some corroded brake lines on my car. I've done some research on the net. Most people seem to use Kunifer, which is "90-10 Copper-Nickel". However, I found that the best stuff to use is called Bundy tubing. I've found that Pirtek stock this. Does anyone have experience of the various materials? They're both…

Tips that will make your car economical.
With all the threads on MPG "driving more economically" and tips like "inflate the tyres fully" I fear we are all missing one important factor which will undermine all of our efforts to save fuel. Our manufacturers skimped when they built the cars and didn't always put the time they should have and as a result we have…

Clueless journalists claim $250 oil would mean £2.30 petrol
Why don't they find some journalists that understand maths instead of scaremongering? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/money/main.jhtml?xml=/money/2008/06/11/npetrol111.xml&CMP=ILC-mostviewedbox Oil prices are to almost double to $250 per barrel, the chief executive of the world’s largest energy company has said, predicting a…

Cheaper fuel - buyers market
See what you think, you are welcome to pass it on if you agree with it: We are hitting an all time high for fuel now, with increases at the pumps almost occurring daily. This movement makes more sense than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just…
