Fiesta Exhaust
Options
I tried to replace the rear box on my 97 1.25 fiesta but it is rusted onto the middle section so i will replace that as well, however is the middle section fitted to the front part with bolts or studs and is that likely to be siezed on as i want to avoid replacing the cat as well.

If only the rear section need replacing just cut off the rear section. DIY is supposed to save money, so if you can't do it yourself, you should have had it fitted for free. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

But if i cut off the rear section the new box will not fit.0

Use a blow torch on the bolts between middle and rear CAREFULLY. It's often easier to leave jobs like this to a garage as if you find a cheap one it's often only a tenner extra on top of the cheapest exhaust part you can find for them to get the exhaust and fit it.
If you detatch the other section from the catalytic converter and somehow damage the catalytic converter it will end up being quite expensive.0 -
TBH, most fitters PRAY that the bolts holding it on snap as it makes removing it easier. The bolts on the CAT are not attached to it - they merely go through a flange and can be replaced.0
