Are lenders pulling mortgage offers
I just wondered if any mortgage brokers have any inside track as to whether actual mortgage offers are being pulled? I know deals and rates are but wondering if they would pull offers too? Many thanks

Will I be able to keep my mortgage?
Alongside a whole host of others, I'm bricking it a bit at the current hike in interest rates. My fixed rate comes to an end in April '23 and not only am I panicking about what the new rate will be, but more worryingly still, I'm wondering about whether I'll be able to retain my mortgage at all. I'm a lone parent on a low…

porting, renegotiating
Hi and thanks for reading. I am porting over my existing mortgage with an additional extra mortgage for the £90k or so I need for my new place. Since this was all agreed with the bank, a survey found some issues leading to a renegotiation, meaning £15k off the agreed price. My question is what happens to the original…

IR35 Query
A portion of my income (about 20%) falls under IR35 where I work for a company, invoice them for the work undertaken and they pay me via traditional payroll / taxed at source etc. I don't have a contract for this work, but have 13 months of payslips and a letter from their HR confirming my continued work for at least…

NatWest AIP with a CCJ?
My partner and are looking to move and were surprised that our broker got us a AIP with NatWest. My partner has a 11 month old CCJ to value of £1250, satisfied in may this year. He also has 2 defaults from 2019 - all paid off. However he does have good payment history with his bank, all utilities and car finance. It’s a…

Another what would you do thread?
Currentley my Deal at 2.04% ends 31st October next year, Balance is at £158k. I can't really change provider (Natwest) as i'd probably fail affordability checks as my salary is a bit down since I applied ( My own choice to work Mon-Fri rather than shifts) Currently at 2% ERC but that will go down to 1% on 1st November.…

Will Kwarteng’s U-turn mean lower interest rates?
Kwarteng’s “Mini-budget” caused a chaotic collapse in the markets which has caused banks to hike their interest rates. Now that he’s u-turned, hopefully we expect mortgage rates to come down again, at least a bit. Can anyone please post here any evidence of rates falling again? Or am I being naive?

Making the most of a low rate mortgage
I have ~78k remaining on my mortgage with Santander. It's a 5 year fix that expires in Feb 2025, and the rate is 1.49%. I'm in the fortunate position that I have the money in the bank to clear it, but I've chosen not to as it's earning more in interest than the 1.49% of my mortgage rate (and I would have a ~4k ERC). I'm…

HSBC timeframes?
We submitted our application for a 5 year fix 2 weeks ago and have sent a payslip but nothing else yet. Hoping because we haven’t heard anything to the contrary our rate is honoured! Anyone in the know have any idea of timeframes for HSBC or an order as to what should happen next? Thank you! Scary times!

Nationwide extension
Has anyone had an extension from Nationwide recently? We have 10 weeks until our offer expires so shouldn’t need it but want to know how much we need to push our purchase through if they aren’t doing extensions.

Molo Finance mortgage
Does this rate actually exist? It looks stunningly good for a 10 year fix but whilst Habito list it as a live deal, I can't see 10 year fixed on the Molo site, the shortest is 15 years.

Depositing cash into bank account during house purchase?
I'm in the middle of a house purchase; I have received my mortgage offer. I have some cash I want to deposit into my main bank account being used for mortgage deposit/solicitor funds, probably less than £400. 1) If I were to deposit this money, would my solicitor and/or lender require an explanation of where this money has…

House has underpinning but no claims in last 16 years - is it mortgageable?
I'm in the middle of a house purchase. The contract pack has revealed that the seller knows that the property is underpinned, but there have been no claims since they've had the property (last 16 yeas). They also state they have buildings insurance for the house. My solicitor has sent further enquiries to establish if…

BEBR predictions? Fix or track?
Hi, My mortgage deal (2yr 1.29% fix) is up at the end of Feb 2023 and I probably need to act now and grab a new deal. I should really have done this last month but I was sleeping. With Bank of England Base Rate (BEBR) sitting at 2.25%; and presumably about to go up 0.5pc in Nov; and another 0.5 in Dec - we're presumably…

First time remortgaging - do you pay fees if you stay with the same provider?
Hi there, I'm coming to the end of my first 5 year fixed rate morgage term the end of April 2022 with Natwest. I have 20 years left. I'm wondering what the process is then as my current rate will turn into a variable rate. I noticed on the natwest site I can change my mortgage to a new deal 6 months earlier so I presume…
