Any predictions what the base rate may rise to this November? Does anyone think that it will be difficult to achieve <4.5% mortgage over the next 3 years, even with a perfect credit rating/good deposit? I k ow a bit crystal ball but what are the certs of any? Thanks

NatWest broker rates going up from tomorrow (3rd Oct)
Just received notification from NatWest about broker rates going up, available from tomorrow. The email says the new rates are "immediately effective" so I imagine it's no longer possible to submit an application for the old rates but do check with your brokers if you have any applications ready to go. See here for the…

Has the rate been pulled already?
Like many others I have a low fixed rate (1.94%) ending next year, and am looking to lock in a new rate now, switch mortgages next year and although this will cost me a small ERC, it's worth it in the longer time period. I've used Habito as a broker, and on Friday they came back to me with some options, one of which was a…

Hello We had an offer agreed with Barclays on a property back in July but out vendors haven't found anywhere and have pulled out. Lender offering discount if you offer to pay off?
Is there a possibility that my lender will offer me a 5-10% discount on outstanding mortgage if I offer to pay in full? I am on a offset mortgage currently and full offset hence not paying any interest.

Should I fix now?
For one reason or another I have been on my banks standard rate now for many years. I have 4 Years and 4 Months left and it's currently at 4.99%. I can fix for 2 years today with no fees @ 4.2%, Is this worth doing on the assumption interest rates are only going to go up with very little chance of them going down? Or as I…

Nationwide Mortgage first payment notification
Hi everyone, I'm a first time buyer who completed on 23rd September. I read online on Nationwide's website that I should receive a mortgage first payment notification in writing 5-7 days after completing. I still haven't received this yet. I was just wondering if anyone else had a delay in receiving this? I'm not worried…

Being put at risk of redundancy just before exchange. Should we notify Natwest?
We have a mortgage offer with Natwest which expires in February. My wife's income was used when applying for the mortgage. We received the news that my wife's employer is giving notice of redundancy and that my wife's position is at risk. She will only know in 30 days if her position is being made redundant after the…

Timing advice for Lloyd's mortgage application
I have an AIP with Lloyd's but my current mortgage doesn't finish until 03/04/2022. In order to avoid the ERC, when should I complete the full application with Lloyd's? I did ring them and after 1.5 hours on hold the customer representative advised an offer would be valid for 6 months but wasn't sure if that was calendar…

Median remaining mortgage fix duration
I am trying to speculate at what point property prices might reach their lowest point if interest rates remain significantly ahead of where they have been since 2009 (although I do not think this will last). Does anybody have data for the above?

Remortgage or homeowner loan?
I currently have a car loan for around 10k at around 20% APR I was hoping to remortgage a year early, take an ERC hit and bring that 20% down with remortgage rates of around 5% as my current rate is 6% due to a CCJ. Now that rates have gone up, I’m in two minds whether to wait and pray that rates stay around 4.5% in a…
