The saga continues - self employed mortgage
I was posting on the house buying board as I didn't realise there was a mortgage board. I applied for a mortgage on my own due to my husband being self employed, having quite a bit of short term debt and paying himself a very low salary (under 10k). They wanted a high deposit so we re-applied together and were able to…

Porting or Redeeming
Hi folks I'm selling my 1-bedroomed flat and hoping to move to a 2-bedroomed flat on t'other side of the city. I'm in north Bristol and want to move eastside. I have been doing overpayment every month in addition to my monthly mortgage payment. The deal comes to an end at the end of the year. Will I be able to get a new mortgage and still make the overpayment or will they offer me something else since they can see I can pay the mortgage and an overpayment.

Just curious. It has been around 16 months since we cleared our mortgage arrears. Will we need to disclose or will our credit file still show this as a concern to future potential lenders? Thanks

Chargeable event.
Took out a with-profits endowment policy in 1986, originally for 25 yrs. However, interest rates massively increased in the early 90's. I was advised to extend my policy to 30yrs as at the time I could not afford the vastly higher interest payments. Through working overtime over the years, I was able to pay off the…
