Fixed rate ending
My 2 year fixed rate mortgage with Halifax is coming to an end on 31st December, so I understand I'll go onto the SVR of 3.74% on 1st January. Will my payments automatically reduce from the 1st January? My current rate is 5.59 so it will be a nice saving. This is my first mortgage so I'm not sure what happens.

Overpay to reduce penalty
I've got a 4% mortgage I'm going to exit when I move homes in the near future. I have to pay 3% of outstanding as early repayment fine. If I over pay 10% I'm allowed to before I exit, I'll reduce the total amount owed and therefore my 3% penalty - right? I have the 10% in my account now.
