My partner and I are currently looking to buy a house together. Our current status is as follows
Me
£10k loan outstanding
Defaulted 5/6 times on payments that I made up asap (within a week)
Earning £35k per annum
Checkmyfilescore 702
Partner
Student loan
Mortgage
Car on hpi
Earning £26k per annum
Checkmyfilescore 688
We have had her house valued and we stand to have around £150k as a deposit after all fees etc following the sale from her house
We are hoping for a joint mortgage of £130-£150k
The questions we have are:
Would we be better off clearing my outstanding debt to facilitate a better credit score?
Would we be considered bearing in mind the deposit we would have would be larger than the usual 10/15%
I'd appreciate any help or feedback

There's no such thing as a universal credit score. Checkmyfile don't lend money and no lender can see the score made up by Checkmy file.
How old are your defaults?
Have you tried some of the mortgage calculators on lenders' websites to get an idea of how much you can borrow with your current incomes and outgoings?0 -
Couple over the past year but we've worked out our joint disposable income would be as follows based on staying at her current property etc
Myself £1800 per month
Partner £400 per month0
