Defaults and mortgages

Options
Hi all

I've been trying to get a mortgage through both lloyds and a broker but have been turned down. The reason appears to be some defaults that I'm contesting due to being taken out by an abusive ex partner without my knowledge or consent trying to get them taken off has been like talking to a brick wall

Does anyone known of a good lender that would accept the following-

1. Income of 35 000 per annum in a full time job
2. All debts paid off
3. Defaults were registered early to mid 2015 and paid off incrementally at first and then in bulk last week.
4. Credit score low (I check regularly for any issues) but improving steadily.
5. No ccjs ect the only issue is defaults.
6. 5% deposit saved but cannot save to 10%

I have the perfect house in mind for my girlfriend and small baby around £100000 but just keep getting knocked back. Any advice on lenders or schemes would help so much

If your credit history does not meet the specific lenders criteria then there's little you do. With recently cleared defaults then options will be somewhat limited.

95% with 1 year old defaults I am a little surprised the broker even tried this to be honest. If those defaults do not get taken off then you are going to have to hold fire for at least another year if not 2 or up your deposit to 15%.

    I agree with ACG.

Your current broker sounds very inexperienced.
