Turns out portable mortgage isn't....what to do?
Our house has been valued at £380-385k. We took out a lifetime tracker mortgage with Santander (base rate plus 0.5%), for which we have been paying more than required, and now owe £270k. The mortgage is portable, but we have just found that that means the product not the value! The bank will only offer £120k for any…

HSBC and leasehold houses
Does anyone know how many years HSBC require to be on the lease for a house (not a flat) when getting a mortgage? I've found a couple of houses I like, but both are leasehold, with 65 years left to run on 99-year leases. I've tried searching here and on HSBC's website, but couldn't find anything. Thanks!
