Abbey and Nationwide Mortgage rates
We have two fixed rate mortgages, both of which end in September. Nationwide on our own home which reverts from 4.64% to 2.5% and Abbey on a flat for my mum which reverts from 6.29% to what? fixed vs variable?
I'm currently on a good variable rate 2.5% and am about to fix for 5 years at 5.19% and am now having seconds thought if I'm being a bit premature. Reading some of the other threads there are strong opinions that rates will stay low for a long time and fixed rates may even come down. Any advice?

I know that if I were to sell the property within the first five years of buying it I’d have to pay back the discount I’ll receive, but I was wondering if there was any reason why I couldn’t buy it and then rent it out straight away.
