I made a mess of loan application - can I fix it?
We applied to borrow 40k to do an extension. We applied to our current lender A&L. This would have taken the mortgage from 67k to 107k. We've just received a letter saying they'll lend us just 14k. We're stumped - my OH earns 24.5k and we get £1267 in tax credits so according to their calculator we can borrow 115k. They…

Fixed rates-act fast.....
'Fixed rates' are proving very popular at the moment as people seek protection from rising rates. As long as you've got your fixed rate application into the lender, that rate will be honoured, so don't hang around.

How long for mortgage offer?
Hi, just a quick one. Our valuation survey was done last friday (13th). How long does it usually take to get the mortgage offer out, if all was ok? DO we get the valuation report with the mortgage offer? Sorry, FTB and no idea of timescales. When you don't know when things are supposed to happen, it's hard to know if you…

Just a quick question. Have AIP with Nationwide and just (fingers crossed) got the house we want. So hopefully in the next couple of days will be filling in the rest of the mortgage application. Transfer of Equity - does anyone know a cheap solicitor
I originally asked about this a couple of days ago - JoeK kindly replied that he thought it could get done for apx £150. I know it costs just £80 plus vat for a joint…
