How can I get a new mortgage with the C&G

I currently have a mortgage with the C&G I recently went to see them with regard getting a new mortgage as I wish to sell my property and move to a different property. They have refused me based on my credit rating how ever when I went to see them 4 months ago they appoved me. Based on clearing all my debts with the sale of the property they offered me a new mortgage and did not do a credit check. The mortgage advisor has now left and the new mortgage advisor first thing was to do a credit check. My score being very low refused my application immediately without asking any other questions. The reason I have a low score is apparently because of a default on a credit card I have since resolved this however they have not put satisfied on the credit report yet. Details not updated from 2 months ago have since chased the card company they will update their records within 48 hrs but not the credit agencies until begining of next month. However to find this out I have done two searches on my credit report plus C&G plus other searches in total have 8 Searches on my report at the moment. I have no idea what to do next any help would be appreciated as I am currently in the process of having agreed sale of my property and put an offer in on another property. Many Thanks Mike

You have taken the first steps necessary to clean your credit file up but if all else fails with C&G, you will have to bite the bullet and pay the redemption penalty if you need to move.
You need the services of a whole of market mortgage broker to help you to re-coup some of your penalty by arranging the lowest possible interest rate.
