just secured a new deal....

just got a new deal sorted with halifax for a 3 year fixed rate.
i have weeks until my deal runs out, but i thought i had better secure a fixed rate now, in light of inflation rising and fix rate deals being withdrawn....
i have 3 years fixed @ 5.85%
i understand this might not be THE BEST deal out there but does everyone think its ok?
iam pretty sure we are going to see hefty rises in the Boe interest rate.... i think/hope i have done the right thing, at least i know i can afford these repayments, even if the Boe rate does drop in a year or so.

I am no expert but I had my first mortgage with the halifax and was really naive about moving my mortgage thought it would be a hassle so kept trying to get a good rate from them when my fixed rate ended, put simply they just don't really value current customers and the best thing I did was go to L&C BROKERS, I got a fantastic rate which is just coming to an end. I have secured a new 5 year deal at 5.44% with no fees and an arrangement fee of 499 but the I can overpay by £500 a month so I simply added it to the loan and hope to pay it off within the 1st month. My advice ...GO TO A BROKER:rotfl:

your £499 arrangement fee will be added to the mortgage, thus cancelling out the fact that your deal is 'slighly' lower % wise, so for the hassle, i wont bother....

Just signed the paperwork for the Nationwide 5.44% 5 yr fix - still available at moment as I can see, no fees at all, but you need to be with Nationwide for 3 yrs (either as mgage or flex account I think)

Not sure why you've posted on here? As you want someone to say you've got a good deal but then disregard anyone elses view! Whos to say the interest rates in 3 yrs time when you're renewing will not be 7%. Nobody knows
