How much can I expect to pay for oil heating?
I am trying to move house at the moment and have seen properties which I like but have oil fired heating. Previously I have disregarded these completely but seriously need to move so would like to weigh up the costs. The house I'm looking at is a 2 bed mid terrace cottage. Any ideas on typical costs?

cost of heat from oil
can anyone tell me the cost of burning oil in my range ? the max output of the burner is 25,500kcal/hr. I want to work out if I am better off using a small elec oven/grill for small dishes rather than firing up the range in the summer. thanks

How do I guestimate running costs of different systems?
I have a SAP report (yes I know it's not really worth the paper it's written on) which says my house has a total floor area of 169sqm, and it also says 291kWh/m2/year energy use.... Looking at renting a 2-bed cottage, which has a coal-fired boiler (a Parkray). Just wondering how much coal would be needed to run the boiler over a typical winter?
