Shawbrook Bank
Hi all, Just a quick note, I'm thinking about taking a secured loan out through Shawbrook Bank as they are offering a very competitive rate. Has anyone taken out? had loans? any issues? good service etc? As they are fairly new I'd like to know if anyone has anything I should be wary of. Thanks very much

Credit scoring - I don't understand it?
Hi guys. Just been discharged from a DRO and first time ever seeing my credit scores. CallCredit have me down at 334 and Equifax 283. I understand this is low but how do I find out how low? How many points do I need before I get to good? What score is good? Thanks

Anyone with a low Experian credit score ever gotten a loan
Hi, I've seen a lot of people say they have 999 Experian scores but get rejected for loans based on obvious things like debt to income ratio. My question is has the reverse ever happened. Has anyone with a poor score ever got approved despite it because the factors which made their score low might not be so bad.

Loan repayment
Can someone give me some advice please. In 2006 I took out a £25,000 loan, repayable over 120 months, with a total repayment at 7.7% per year of £36,028. This was a monthly set repayment of £300.24 per month. I did not start receiving annual statements from my lender until 2010 and this showed my monthly payments (£300.24)…

Extraordinary response from Barclays to my instruction to cancel a cpa
First of all, this is my first post here, but I have spent some time recently reading all the good advice posted. Thanks for that. Anyway, after much soul searching and talking with the National Debt Line, I decided that the only way to deal with my debt situation and continue to feed my child was to break the PDL cycle,…

Santander
Hello I have a car loan with Santander and I'm very frustrated to find that I get charged £30 for every change no matter how small. I just wanted to post to warn people not to fall into the trap I find myself in so that they can choose to go elsewhere hopefully and save themselves some money, as that's what it's all about…

Help with a loan application
Out of interest. Yesterday I rang Halifax to enquire about a loan. When asked what amount I required they asked what it was for, I replied it was for a number of things. Then they asked for a breakdown of what was being spent on what. Obviously I just gave an estimate of what was being spent i.e. £6000 on a car, £1500 home…

Can I take out a bank loan with no proof of income?
This isn't as stupid as it may sound. Me and my partner are both students. I am due start my secondary PGCE in September and will need a more reliable car for getting to placements which can be anything up to 50 miles from my home address. However, we would need to take a joint loan out for this. Because I will be training…
