Every time LLoyds update their systems each month my personal loan rate varies considerably. It has gone from 5.9% up to 24.9%. When I have spoken to the respective bank they said it is based on a number of factors. I have never had a cheque, dd or standing order returned unpaid. I have checked my credit file with Experien…

Hi, I need to find £5,000 to pay off the outstanding finance on a lease car agreement. I have exhausted the insurance policy route which I had in effect and now need to face up to paying it. I am beside myself as I do not have the means to pay, like most I guess. I have thought about keeping the car and finance agreement…

How can I tell if PPI was missold...?
I'm looking into my cousins financial affairs and he took out a Black Horse Finance agreement with PPI. He's currently in dire financial circumstances and I'm trying to help him out by looking at his loan agreement. He took out the loan two years (36 month loan period) for around £20,000 + £2,800 PPI. His arrears are…

PPI & Temporary Workers
After reading a thread (on here I think!) about Barclays PPI not covering temporary workers, I decided to challenge Baclays as my husband has the cover and was in temporary employment. Off we trundelled to the bank and after a lot of tooing and froing between the Branch Manager and a Personal Advisor was informed that no…

PPI - Payment in Lieu of Notice
hi all, I'm thinking of taking out PPi just incase of unemployment. Looking at the small print, it says that it will start paying out after my 'Payment in Lieu of Notice' expires. What is this 'Payment in Lieu of Notice'? Does this mean that if I ever get made redundant (as I dont think I'll ever get sacked or walk out of…

Basically in December 2004 I took out a £16,000 loan over a period of 6 years meaning I repay £310 a month (which is comfortably affordable) but now that I have a serious…

Northern Rock PPI
Hi Folks, Many thanks for all threads reference stopping costly PPI insurance. I took out a loan 3.5 years bback for £17500 with Northern Rock. Hey guys, Took a loan of £4.5k (along with a trade in of 5.5k) on my car in July, through Ford Finance. Paying about £205 a month for 2 years, without any big final payment or anything. However, would it be better to get a personal loan, with a lower rate (my current rate is 8.0% APR, so that I own the car outright right…

Do banks have a duty of care for their elderly customers?
My Mum (76) rang me in tears on Friday. She is not very good at understanding money matters and my Dad is nearly 80 and a bit deaf. They already had a £20K loan from Barclays (instead of going for equity release). Anyway, several £K of this had been put in an ISA and a building society account for future use and to have a…
