hello
so... i have just started a post grad, 1 year course. i have no income and need about £1500 for just 6 months. i am eligible for a 'career development loan', but they don't seem very competitive and many people get refused.
right now i have a £1500 interest free student overdraft which is nearly maxed. i will be getting a £1500 tax rebate in april. i will be earning a wage in august next year. my parents, which is my home address, have an excellent credit rating.
do i have any chance of a loan? what about a credit card?
any advice very gratefully received!

Not sure how you will get a loan or credit card with no income to repay.
A CDL with deferred payment sounds like a good option - sure the rates aren't brilliant, but you are asking for a payment free loan for six months.
The only other option seems to be to ask your folks to take out say a £2k loan in your name from Northern Rock or Nationwide (which allow early repayemnt without penalty). You can then use some of the money to make repayments for 6 months and then hopefully repay the whole lot with your tax repayment or use that to continue to make payments until your course is finished.

I'm looking to raise some money for my audio engineering course due to start in march. My cerdit score is very bad because I have moved houses twice in the last year or so, have arrears with council tax and gas+elec and i'm only temping at the moment because i left my previous job and am going away for 5 weeks in december so i can't really look for a permanent job.
so to get to the point, how do i raise £6000 to pay my course fees? i've been out of education for about 2 years now and this course is what i really want to do, but...
... WHY IS MONEY ALWAYS IN THE WAY OF EVERYTHING???? filthy bits of paper...0
