Hi, I recently spoke to National Debtline who has said they are taking up to 9 weeks to process new DRO's. Obviously that's quite a long time and I already have debt collectors, namely doorstep collectors asking for the reference number to stop them coming around. The application National Debtline sent me should be here…

'DebtFree Haven' offering IVA Alternative
Hi, I was wondering if anyone had heard of a firm called 'DebtFree Haven'. They wrote to me, implying that there are ways to write off my debt instantly (as if by magic!!!). They seem like a bunch of charlatans out to nab IVA customers, pointing out some of the IVA downsides (none of which is news to the informed IVA…

What happens to a standard current account you have with an institution "you don't owe anything to" once you enter an IVA? Do they simply remove overdraft facility and cheque book if you have those options on the account, do they reduce it to a basic account, or do they close down the account in some cases?

IVA & Equity Release: Remortgage v Secured Loan
I know there has been some debate, and concern, that some IVA customers are being railroaded into taking out sub-prime (eg: 16-20%APR) secured loans, after being unable (unsurprisingly) to remortgage, under the terms of their IVA equity release clause. This is pretty standard stuff if you are in an IVA and a property…
