IVA, think we've been done!!!
Hi In 2001 my husband and i entered into an IVA with Debtfree Direct. We made our payments for 4 years and then were told we could complete early. We had to make an offer to our creditors and because property prices had increased, we had equity. We were told at the beginning of the IVA that once we had made the payments…

HELP..Can you claim missold Insurance on loans and credit cards.
This might be a stupid question but no-one seem to have the answer but I'll ask again, My theory is that when your paying a IVA you are paying for the insurance that you have been misold , but the fact remains that you have paid for the "mis sold" insurance and over charges up until the point of the IVA starting...so can…

IVA diary
Hi everyone There are tons of diaries on the debt-free-wannabee forum and little here so I thought I would start one as it may help others? In October I realised that there was just no way I could continue the way I was. Robbing Peter to pay Paul, cutting back so much it was unrealistic, constant panic and sleepless nights…

Considering an IVA Beware!
Only enter into an IVA agreement as a last resort. They don't always reduce the amount you owe, though they stop interest accumulating. Look into the IVA provider carefully as there are a lot of cowboy firms out there such as SPWCA dot co dot uk who charge extortionate fees, all of which are added to the repayment total.…

IVA Payments
I entered into an IVA in January 2007, my debts total £37,000. My take home pay is £2100.00 per month and my IVA payment is £701 per month. I am paying my creditors 100p in the £. I feel I am paying too much as I will be paying all the debt back and not 75%. Has anyone else been in the same situation? I don't know what to…

Should I switch from DMP to IVA
Hi I currently have a DMP through CCCS which I have been paying for 2 years. I originally owed about 56K (gulp!) and now owe in the region of 45K. I pay £343 per month and have regular income. The predicition on the site is that this will be paid off in March 2020 - which is horrific. Would I be better off switching to an…

About to enter IVA - INFO PLEASE
Hello, I am about to enter an IVA as I have £74k of debts (through several credit cards and an overdraft). I have been in touch with the CAB and the National Debtline and wandered which one would be the best one to use? There also seems to be quite a few mentions of the CCCS on this forum. Would I be better to go through…

4th year IVA
Dear All, I'm approaching the 5th year of my IVA, which so far has been perfect for me, trouble free and manageable. I am concerned that there may be a big review at the beginning of the 5th Year that I need to collate paperwork for. Is this the case or does it carry on ticking over as usual, bar the annual review? Many…

IVA and debit card
Is someone on an IVA allowed to have a debit card? I ask because I've opened a Nationwide Flexi account (before IVA has started) as recommended on these boards, but it is a cash card only.
